Who we are
Find & Say is operated by 13310906 Canada Inc. (“we”, “us”), a Canadian company. This policy explains what personal information we collect through findandsay.com, why, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only. When you buy on Amazon or listen on a music service, that company’s own privacy policy applies.
What we collect
- Email sign-ups. Your email address, the page you signed up on and the date.
- Topic votes. The topic you picked, any topic idea you typed, and your email address only if you choose to give it.
- Contact messages. Your name (optional), email address, topic and message.
- Technical information. When you submit a form we record your approximate country and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. We use it only to stop spam and abuse, and it cannot be used to read your IP address back.
We do not ask for payment details, and we never sell your information.
Why we use it
- To send the free puzzles and the updates you asked for: new books, songs, reading cards and free puzzles.
- To count topic votes and decide which books to make next.
- To reply to your messages.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam.
We rely on your consent for emails. You can withdraw it at any time.
Emails and unsubscribing
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to remove you through our contact form. We will stop emailing you promptly, and in any case within 10 business days.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you across other sites. It saves one setting in your browser’s local storage: the Amazon store you picked (US, CA or UK), so the Buy buttons open the right store next time. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings.
Who we share it with
We use Cloudflare, Inc. to host this website, store form submissions and deliver contact messages to our inbox. Cloudflare processes this information for us under its own security and privacy commitments. Your information may therefore be stored or processed outside your province or country, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
If we later use an email service to send newsletters, we will share your email address with it only to send you the emails you asked for. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Links to other sites
Buy buttons take you to Amazon, and song links take you to music services. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep contact messages for as long as we need them to help you, and generally no longer than two years. Votes without an email address are anonymous and may be kept to track topic interest.
How we protect it
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in access-controlled systems. Only people who need it to run Find & Say can see it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent. Depending on where you live, including Canada, the UK and the EU, you may have more rights, such as data portability or the right to object. To make a request, use our contact form. You can also complain to your local privacy regulator; in Canada, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Our reading cards are for learners of all ages, but this website’s sign-up and contact forms are meant for adults. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to sign up or contact us for you. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
